About The Third Jihad
The Third Jihad, the newest offering from the producers of the captivating documentary film, Obsession, explores the existence of radical Islam in America and the emerging risk that this “homegrown jihad” poses to national security, western liberties and the “American way of life.”
The film, which is narrated by devout Muslim American Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, opens with the following statement: “This is not a film about Islam. It is about the threat of radical Islam. Only a small percentage of the world's 1.3 billion Muslims are radical. This film is about them.”
In 72 minutes, the film reveals that radical Islamists driven by a religiously motivated rejection of western values cultures and religion are engaging in a multifaceted strategy to overcome the western world. In contrast to the use of “violent jihad” and terror to instill fear in “non-believers,” The Third Jihad introduces the concept of “cultural jihad” as a means to infiltrate and undermine our society from within.

Producer of The Third Jihad, Founder of Clarion
Raphael Shore is a producer of documentary films and the founder of Clarion, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about national security threats. Shore is well-known for producing the critically acclaimed documentary Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West. His latest documentary, The Third Jihad, explores radical Islam in America and the growing threat it poses to American society. He previously worked as an international analyst of Middle East issues and has been interviewed by CNN, The New York Times ,and other leading media organizations. A native of Canada, he graduated from the University of Toronto.
Wayne Kopping
Director & Editor of The Third Jihad
Wayne Kopping is best known for his film and television work in South Africa, including the production of several commercials, music videos, corporate films, and an award-winning short documentary about Nelson Mandela. Kopping was also the Director, Editor, and Co-Writer of Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West. Adamant that his film distinguished between radical Islam and the faith practiced by a majority of the world’s Muslims, a disclaimer at the start of the film reads, “It's important to remember, most Muslims are peaceful and do not support terror.” Following the success of Obsession, Kopping directed and edited The Third Jihad, a documentary detailing the rise of radical Islam within the United States.
Erik Werth
Co-Director & Co-Producer of The Third Jihad
Erik Werth is an Emmy-nominated television producer and former advisor to senior government officials. During his tenure at Dateline NBC, he produced various investigative and breaking news stories, and earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Documentary Research. Prior to joining NBC, Werth served as a Clinton Administration policy advisor regarding Secret Service and law enforcement issues as well as a policy advisor to the Boston District Attorney. Most recently, he co-directed and co-produced The Third Jihad, a documentary film detailing the rise of radical Islam within the United States. A graduate of Georgetown University, he now resides in Los Angeles.
Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser
Narrator of The Third Jihad
Dr. Jasser is a devout practicing Muslim American and a former physician to the U.S. congress. He is the founder and President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD), a group that supports and promotes the synergy of the Muslim faith, in belief and practice, with the American values of democracy, freedom, and liberty. Despite great personal risk, Dr. Jasser has taken a leading role in exposing and fighting the threat of radical Islamism and jihadism in America.
Jihad Manifesto
In the film, The Third Jihad, prominent attention is given to a document used in the trial of the Holy Land Foundation (HLF).
The document, titled "An Explanatory Memorandum: On the General Strategic Goal for the Group," was originally obtained from the website of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas, which made it publicly available, along with many other documents from the trial. The trial, which was one of the largest terror funding cases in U.S. history, recently ended in a conviction, with guilty verdicts on 108 charges.
The memorandum, which is understood to be a strategic document produced by the Muslim Brotherhood, has been widely analyzed, including, notably, in an assessment by Pentagon Joint Staff analyst, Stephen Coughlin. NEFA quotes Army Lt. Col. Joseph Myers, who writes about Coughlin's review:
This assessment makes the point that the Muslim Brotherhood should be considered a threat organization and the affiliated U.S. domestic Muslim NGOs and associations identified in the strategy document should likewise be considered part of the Muslim Brotherhood network, that these are 'front functional organizations operating as links and nodes of the overall network."
Coughlin writes that "It should be noted that the memorandum met evidentiary standards to be admissible as evidence in a Federal Court of law."
