BENGALURU: The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Friday sent a notice to home minister KJ George taking suo motu cognizance of his remarks suggesting that rape by two men cannot be termed gang rape. George, meanwhile, defended himself that his statement had been misinterpreted and that he only wanted to ensure public perception of women's safety in Bengaluru is not undermined.
